wa lan eh. july 1st.
this is freaking fucked up.
7% GST rise nia hor. alot of things kena affected.
i went to coffeeshop buy milo bing to drink. the uncle always give 50cent discount one so i always get to buy at $1 nia. then today they tell me wad GST increase they no choice charge us $1.30 from tml onwards.
COOL. 2 percent of $1 = $0.30. i wonder how i pass my maths when i was in secondary sch.
then my brother bought this comic back. chuang yi rised the price from $5 per book to now $5.50 per book. GST of 2% increase from $5 = ($5 x 102%)= $5.50? even if the cost of ur raw materials and manufacturing cost increased by 2% due to the GST increase u oso dun need to rise over 2% right? in chinese hor, we call this rob ppl when there is fire. "chen huo da jie"
my house downstairs coffeeshop hor rise the price for rental. 2% increase in GST = rise of a few hundred bucks when the cost per mth is 2k? rise of like 2% they increase like $200-$400?
where is CASE? why arent they standing up for people like us? ccb government increase 2% nia the whole of singapore kena fucked by these "businessmen".
now u see why i kp so much when the govt wanna rise to 7%. its not like 2% is that much. 2% of $10 is a $0.20. (but then a $0.70 per $10 is quite a something still. its like my daily newspaper money leh)
but are they aware that people are ABUSING THIS RISE TO INCREASE THE PRICES OF THE THINGS THEY SELL BY ALOT MORE THAN 2% rise ??

rise of GST to 7% is really helping the economy or make us suffer more?
i think its both. increase in taxes without increase in our pay. then goods get more expensier because of the increase of GST. wads worst is that those people increase the prices of things more than 2%, making our lives more miserable.
and from wad i noe hor, in order for businesses to charge consumers GST, they need to be registered. and to be registered, their company must exceed 1million bucks of taxable goods in their procession (or wadeva u call it la. sounds like u must earn 1m or something before u can register for GST). but i guess not many ppl noe abt the registered GST thing and I dun really see an effort from the govt trying to tell people not to get cheated and the consequences of charging GST to consumers when they are not registered. more information u all can read up on the iras website if u are very free. its got alot of words la.
imagine la, i own this gameshop. i 1 yr earn like a few hundred k nia. i normally sell psp for $250. gst rise hor, i sell at $280. then i tell customers this.
"eh brother, no choice leh, govt rise one. not i wan oso."
ok. it spoils the govt image. i aint registered and i charge ppl the gst and say coz of govt then i lidat. and i can say ALOT of people especially those aunties and uncles dun really noe abt the registered gst thing at all.
i think if govt can address these few problems, at least there are lesser things i will have to pay more in the near future. i dun see why i have to pay so much for a fucked up cup of milo when they never register for gst (or should i say not eligible to charge at all?)
that money dun go to govt and goes to their pocket. hearing that makes my blood boil coz it sounds like govt helping them to make me more miserable (but its not supposed to be like this isnt it?)
and hor, kua just told me his cousin blogged abt some government shit and then the same week CID come his house CONFISCATE HIS COMPUTER LEH.
