There was once a boy named Ryosuke. He was only 8 years old then, still studying in primary school.
There was once when one of his mum's friends came over to his place to visit them. They brought their daughter along. Her name was Michiko. That was how Ryosuke know her. she was only 7then. They often play together as they lived nearby. And thats how the two of them got along and became very good friends.
One day, Michiko's parents have to go overseas and left her with Ryosuke's parents to take care of her during the period they were overseas. Ryosuke was happy about it as he would be able to play with her everyday.
It was winter then and the weather was cold. The ice-cream won't even melt even if you are eating it under the sun. The two kids went out to play with the consent of Ryosuke's mother. They were playing hide and seek and catching. However, it seems that they were too engrossed in their game and ran off to far away from home and its too late when they realised that. They lost their way and has no idea how to go home. Just then, Michiko started to feel abit uncomfortable. So, Ryosuke carried her on his back to a nearby park to sit down. It was late then and the sky was about to change it's shirt from a light blue one to a black one. No one was at the park except for the two of them.
"Aniki, where are we? It's cold here and i am hungry. Can we go home?" said Michiko, as the surround water vapour condenses as she talk.
"Ok, sure, but it might take us sometime. I need to find the way back." Ryosuke told her.
They then walked around the streets, with empty stomaches, trying to find a way back home. After walking for awhile, Michiko started to complain about her hunger. It was then when Ryosuke told her that they were lost. Michiko started to cry and he had to make her stop crying by making funny faces and doing stupid things. She stopped crying in the end, but she was not feeling well and Ryosuke was unaware of it. They continued to walk until Michiko couldn't hold on anymore and sat down on the floor.
"Michiko san, I am sorry about brining you out and now we are lost. I am really sorry about it." Ryosuke told her.
"Anisan, don't say that. I am happy so long as I am with you. It doesn't matter to me at all, 'cause I like anisan. I know anisan will take care of me even if anything happens right?" asked Michiko, with her fading voice.
"Yes. No matter what happens I will make sure you are ok." answered Ryosuke.
"Haha.." Michiko laughed and then she suddenly fainted. It shocked Ryosuke. She hasn't been feeling well since earlier that day. Ryosuke touched her forehead and realised that she was having a fever. Though he doesn't have much strength left, he carried Michiko on his back and go around asking for help. He reached the door of a house and collaspe after pressing on the doorbell.
Michiko, I will take care of you no matter what happens. Michiko...... Ryosuke awoken. He was on his bed. The moment he woke up, his mum started to scold him about what happened the day before. When Ryosuke asked about Michiko, his mum told him that her auntie brought her back because of that incident. It seems that it worries them more if Michiko was at Ryosuke's place.
Not long after this incident, Michiko's parents came back from the business trip and learned about this matter. Her parents never talked to Ryosuke's parents from then on. And Michiko's parents disallow her to go play with Ryosuke. They tried meeting up secretly but when they got caught by their parents, they will get scolding. For Ryosuke, his parents even beat him for that. So this lasted a few months till Michiko had to move house.
On the day before she left for her new house, Ryosuke went to meet her secretly. Michiko was happy to see him and so was Ryosuke.
"Aniki, this is for you. I hope you will remember me and we will meet again. Must take good care of me next time, ok?" Michiko smiled despite her tears were running as she pass him a small bottle of folded stars.
"Sure. I promise I will," said Ryosuke, crying, as he held onto the bottle of stars.
"maybe I can give this to you. My mum gave it to me since young. It shall be your guardian angel from now on." Ryosuke took off his necklace and wear it on her neck.
After that they went back quickly to advoid being caught. Michiko left on the next day.
